Product introduction

BSA (Bulked Segregant Analysis), also known as mixed population segregation analysis, is a method of functional gene mining using extreme traits. Parents with extreme phenotypic differences are selected to construct family lines, and in any of their segregating generation populations, a mixed pool of offspring with extreme trait phenotypes is constructed based on the extreme differences in individual phenotypes, and high-throughput sequencing is performed. The parents were used as a reference to detect loci associated with traits and to study the mechanism of gene control of target traits.

The advantages of BSA
(1) Wide range of applications;
(2) Low population requirements;
(3) Low experimental cost;
(4) Ability to efficiently localize the master effect genes for quality or quantitative traits.
