Viral genome sequencing uses a new technology of combined assembly of Nanopore and second-generation data, cleverly combining the advantages of high-accuracy second-generation data and Nanopore's long read length to obtain the sequence information of the viral genome, which can then be used at the structural genome and comparative genome levels. homologous gene analysis, collinearity analysis, species evolution analysis, etc. to analyze the virulence system and evolution of viruses.

Technical route

Advantages of viral genomes
1. Nanopore can cover the entire genome of most viruses with a single read, making it easier to identify complex structures such as repetitive sequences.
2. The second-generation data is assembled in conjunction with the third-generation data, effectively taking advantage of the high accuracy of the second-generation data.
3. No GC preference, which is helpful for the sequencing and assembly of viral genomes with low or high GC.
